GRAZING CENTER
Green pastures canvassing rolling hillsides set the scene for the Dairy
Foundation’s Grazing Center. Here, a herd of 75 cows rotationally grazes
paddocks of grasses to provide the bulk of their diet during warm weather
months.
These cows are milked in a renovated barn designed to demonstrate a
low-investment modernization for dairy farmers. The facility had
formerly been NICC’s tie-stall barn, but it was reinvented as a
swing-style milking parlor in 2005.
