Tours
The Dairy Center is not only a working farm, but a tourism facility where you can learn about modern dairy farming. Please call to set-up tour arrangements. The 250-head dairy herd is milked three times daily, 4 a.m., Noon and 8 p.m.
On your tour you will see:
- Milking Parlor
- Freestall Barn for milk herd housing
- Special Needs Barn for calving (may see a calf being born)
- Calf Barn (pet a calf)
- Iowa’s Dairy Museum (play the milk cart quiz)
- Make homemade ice cream (with a scheduled tour)
The viewing platform for the milking parlor is open 24-hours a day. Stop by and see the cows getting milked anytime.
